Confusion
in communications...
Or as was said in the old
Paul Newman movie "HUD" "...what we have here is a failure to communicate.
That is the norm at many golf schools around the world. The teacher is saying
one thing and the student is hearing another. It all makes for some very
interesting results, mostly undesirable. – J. Shapiro
EVERY
golfer starts their swing on-plane
You start equal with a
touring pro. – J. Shapiro
When we
swing on plane what is the inevitable location of the clubhead?
If it starts out behind
the ball that’s where it must wind up, behind the ball, it’s the only possible
place. – J. Shapiro
How many
of you enjoy hitting straight shots?
Don’t be embarrassed…
sometimes even I like hitting them straight. – J. Shapiro
Immediate
benefits of EZ Way training aids... less apologies!
You won’t have to
apologize to the groups on the adjacent fairways as often.
Powerful
leg positions -
Have you ever seen those Olympic speed skaters
as they push off powerfully with each stride? Picture them pushing with their
right foot and leg, now, hold that thought... when you get to the top of your
backswing that’s the image for you. Your weight should be inside that right leg
and foot ready to push off. Never roll to the outside... we are not doing the
TWIST out there!
DON’T TILT
THE SHOULDERS, TURN THEM
As a result of
misunderstanding and literally following the old myth, "keep your shoulder under
your chin," (last time I looked everyone's shoulders are under their chin's, how
about yours?) you make the mistake of tilting your torso to get the job done.
This move literally leads you into the classic reverse pivot with weight ending
up on your back leg after striking ball. Simply TURN the shoulders. Have you
ever watched a pitcher in baseball? You don't see him windup and then step
toward second base as he throw the ball to the plate. If he did that he'd have
absolutely no velocity at all. That's what happens when you fall backward as you
swing the club. – J. Shapiro
